TB - profile problem
I suffered a computer crash and in the process of recovery made some mistakes.
I would like to recover old messages and the calendar. Unfortunately, there are multiple profiles and (I didn't create them) I'm not sure which one to use.
I am uploading various images of the profile folders. If additional info is needed, I am willing to upload.
Ultimately, I want to combine the older messages with more recent msgs.
Thanx in advance,
Mike-a

Depending on what mistakes you made, the file named profiles.ini at c:\users\<yourid>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird tells the name of the active profile. The one named 7kw23wa.mra looks like it has been used a lot and has had problems many times in past. Items to look for, which you did not show, are screenshots that include last date updated, as that gives info on which profile is most recent. Also, the important files for you are probably in imapmail folder or Mail folder (for POP), or Mail\Local Folders for all local folders. Your addressbook will be abook.sqlite, so look for a larger one with recent update date. Once you locate the desired folders, you can copy them out for placement in a new profile. Once you locate them and define what you have, reply back for more suggestions on reconstructing the new profile.
David,
I am uploading additional images that should help to clarify the problem. These new images were from a recent back up of TB profile pre-crash - I used the profile with latest date I could find.

That one looks recent, as it shows IMAP folder and prefs.js updated on sept 1 and address book looks recently updated. Since you have several folders, why not just activate each, one at a time, to see which has exactly what you want?
David,
David,
I tried your suggestion to copy the contents of a folder ( in this case calendar data) but it didn't work.
Then (out of desperation) I tried to use the extension 'Importexport Tools NG' on the profile that ends in .ietimeport and used the import function on this profile - everything appears to be back except 1 msg - it might be that my mind is playing tricks on me.
For the time being, I'm considering this issue solved.
