can't select a download folder
every time I try to download something firefox displays this message - C:\Windows\TEMP could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.
Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.
When I go to options and try to fix the problem by assigning the correct download folder it won't let me choose a folder at all. Clicking browse does nothing, and it won't let me type in the folder location, I've even tried changing to the 'always ask me' option but still get the same message. Any ideas why this is happening?

I fixed my download folder by going to the folder and right clicking security. You need to see 'authenticated user'. If you don't you need to add it. I did that and when I browsed for the download folder it let me. Downloads work perfect now.

On the menu bar: Tools -> Options -> choose General. Click the Always ask me where to save files
First reply solved my problem partially. Now if I click on "Open with application" instead of saving file, than it's working. But when I try to save the file or try to change download folder none of above works.
It sucks, would like to downgrade Firefox because previous version was working perfectly.
Do you mean "Security" under "Properties"? I don't find anything in Security under Properties that shows 'authenticated user'?
Please clarify what you mean.
I have this problem and it really is starting to piss me off.
Firefox should not allow this to keep going on as long as it has been!!!
