The favicon (the icon before the address) should have a blue or green box around it if you are on a secure connection (it should also say https://..... after it). Click the favicon and security information (including a padlock) will be displayed to verify the connection. (Green is more secure.) More info: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Site%20Identity%20Button
