Does a bar appear saying that Firefox prevented the site from redirecting you? Let's check on that setting.

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

If there is a checkmark in front of "Warn me when sites try to redirect or reload the page" clear it out. Then try again.

You also could try http://www.example.com/wp-login.php and see whether that will load directly.

Thanks for your response, no the setting is not checked off and the url format you suggested does not work, and I have tried every possible combination that makes any sense. IE works fine. Firefox will not open to login on any of my wordpress sites. I have cleared cookies, history etc.

Make sure that your firewall isn't blocking that site.

That's very strange. Does the message appear on a search engine results page, e.g., Google results, or on your own blog somewhere?

Does it make any difference if you use a Log In or Admin link on a page of your blog (assuming you set it up to have one), or type it (or paste it) into the address bar?
