Assuming your internet connection is not the problem, go to Youtube and start to view a video. Pause the video, and then right-click on the video. Flash will then pop up a context menu, click Settings. On the first tab of the settings menu there is an option to de-select "Use hardware acceleration." If the box is not checked, check it, and if it is already checked, un-check it. Then try to play the video again. You may need to re-load the page afterward.

You'll want to update your outdated plug-ins, like Java. See:

Several things can cause this to happen and it may be one or all of them. The main cause is a slow connection...

1. dial up is almost useless with videos. Mostly this is caused by a too slow connection.

2. You may have too many programs open. Close some of them. 3. Don't try to defrag and watch videos at the same time 4. Your cache is too full. Clear the cache by doing a disk cleanup and do a defrag at the same time... this may take a while to complete.
