Updating to Firefox 15 caused loss of desktop settings after the update and a system restart.

I updated Firefox v.14 to v.15 and later I shut down my laptop. I turned on my laptop, entered my password and Windows 7 said "preparing desktop". I got this error message when my desktop appeared: You have been logged on with a temporary profile. I had lost all my desktop settings apparently. I performed a System Restore which worked. The next day Firefox notified me of a new version (15.1) so I updated again. Same situation, lost my desktop settings after doing a Windows restart. Had to run another System Restore.
