On most pages when a next button shows I am unable to forward to the next page. Firefox also hangs a lot. I have cleared cache and cookies. All software is up to date. All Plug-ins are up to date (there are only a few). I don't want to have to reinstall. What could be causing this and how can I fix it.

It's worth confirming that JavaScript is enabled:

Firefox menu > Preferences > Content tab

Is it possible that your Kaspersky extension might be affecting those links? You could try disabling it temporarily and see whether that makes any difference.

Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

When Firefox hangs, can you associate it with anything in particular, such as heavy use of media (Flash, QuickTime, or otherwise), lots of ads, or other factors that could make a page especially heavy to load?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
