Is anyone else getting Javascript Application Box errors from Facebook scripts on EVERY Internet Page?

It doesn't matter where I go. Since the Firefox 22.0 update, every since page fires off the following two error boxes--sometimes in multiple sets.

These are titled Javascript Application Boxes:

evalInSandbox:Error: Permission denied for <https://facebook.com> to create wrapper for object of class UnnamedClass

Error: Permission denied for <https://facebook.com> to create wrapper for object of class UnnamedClass

I have an active Norton security suite running, and have tried virus checkers on this, but some of my usual sweepers won't work. Lucky me, this is WIndows 8 running on a new Toshiba Satellite S955.

Does anyone have a theory? This is NOT happening with IE, and if it's not happening with Chrome, I'm about ready to abandon my Firefox. It's annoying as %$$^ but I keep expecting an update to fix it. But since I'm posting this, this suggests the problem is unique to my computer. I'm wondering what in my setup might be triggering it?

Is this another new Windows 8 bonus?

This is likely caused by the Social Fixer 7.501 extension that shows in the System Details List.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Firefox SafeMode

When in Safe Mode...

  • The status of plug-ins is not affected.
  • Custom preferences are not affected.
  • All extensions are disabled.
  • The default theme is used, without a persona.
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored.
  • The default toolbar layout is used.
  • The JIT Javascript compiler is disabled.
  • Hardware acceleration is disabled.

  • You can open the Firefox 15.0+ SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Or it might be caused by Hardware Acceleration.

When you figure out what is causing that, please let us know. It might help other user's who have that problem.

My "bet" is on the Social Fixer extension as causing that problem. Or maybe YesScript.

Yes, it was indeed an extension! I had forgotten about Social Fixer--since it shows in extensions, not add-ons, it didn't show up with the usual suspects. It didn't do what I hoped it would do (suppress ads on Facebook) so I forgot about it instead of disabling it. Then when 22.0 updated, things went nuts.

Thank you! I LOVE my Firefox, with all its great writer-friendly features like universal spell-checking and BBCode. I was reluctant to give it up.
