I want to remove Delat Homes froms my homepage. the about:config thing isn't working & I can't find it in my add-ons. what to do?

out of nowhere, Delta Homes became my homepage. I followed the steps to "uninstall" it - changing the homepage & removing the add-on - BUT I do not have any add on of Delta Homes. I researched it & tried the "about:config" thing, but it wouldn't work either. what to do? Also, since then, opening FF while it's already running only opens a new tab, not a new window.

Check for and delete a possible user.js file, see the link below.

Also refresh the plugin list to prevent problems with plugins, once again, see the link below for doing this operation.

If those dont work use the Searchreset tool.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Just in case you didn't explore all the categories on the add-ons page, make sure to check extensions. In fact, go ahead and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions...sometimes their names conceal their true behavior.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

If a link appears above a disabled extension to restart Firefox, you can do that as a last step after disabling all the ones you want to disable.
