why doesn't flickr work with firefox
I am trying to copy pictures/textures on flickr via right clicking on the photo. I do not get an option to view all sizes of the image and/or dowload/copy the image. These are not protected files, the owner has made them freely available to anyone that wants them. I am able to copy these to my hard drive with internet explorer but not with firefox. I prefer to use firefox. Is there a solution to this issue? Thanks. Lisa Hatter

Hi Lisa, my screen shot is Firefox 27 on Windows 7. When I open that same page in Internet Explorer 8, the image is full width and the sidebar controls appear below the image. Flickr also says IE8 is not supported. Anyway, try viewing the full sized image and using the "..." menu instead of right-clicking. If I think of a faster way I will post back.

You can try to save the image(s) via "Tools > Page Info > Media" if you can't do this on the web page.

I appreciate the quick reply. I did try Tools>Page Info>Media but when I copied the file the size was less that 1 inch by 1 inch. I'm guessing because I cannot select the size of the image that I want. I'm sorry, but my technical know-how is quite limited. I didn't understand the information on the knowledge base that you posted. I guess I just find it strange that Firefox is limited in this way and I will have to use IE whenever I use flickr.
Hi Lisa, the only place I see the "All Sizes" link is on the page where the image is shown in a large format. (See attached screenshot) In IE8, I do not see a faster way to get to it; same in Google Chrome.
Maybe you have an add-on designed to speed up use of Flickr in IE? Or is the difference because I'm not logged in?
Firefox does work differently than IE when right-clicking: IE may penetrate through transparent elements to the elements below/behind them, but Firefox does not. So for example, where you see the clickable left and right navigation zones in front of the large images, a right-click in Firefox won't show the Save Image As... option since it is showing a contextual menu for the transparent rectangle.
Jscher2000: Thank you for your reply. If I have an add-on in IE for Flickr I am not aware of it. I really don't use IE any longer. I have it on my computer in case I need another browser for situations such as what I am encountering with FIrefox and Flickr. My screen doesn't look like what you have shown in your screen shot in IE--I do not have the information on the right side of the screen. I click on the image that I want to copy, it then opens in a larger window, I right click on that image and it shows the various sizes available for the image--I always select original. It then brings me to another window where I can right click and there I get a large number of options, one of which is to Save Picture as. I think what you describe about a transparent rectangle in Firefox must be what is happening to me, and when I do what Cor-el suggested above, I can copy the file but it is of such a small size when it is saved on my computer--less that one inch--it is virtually useless. I'm guessing that unless there is a way to get Firefox to penetrate the transparent rectangle I will have to use IE when I am using flickr. It just seems kind of strange that such a popular browser doesn't allow for copying of files in flickr. Thank you for trying to assist me.

I'm sorry, I misread your screenshot. I just checked and I have Firefox 26 and IE 11 on Windows 7. I wonder if I upgrade to Firefox 27 things will work differently. I will give that a try. I don't know how to post screenshots otherwise I would show you what I am seeing. I will upgrade Firefox and let you know what happens.
You won't believe this, but I found the three dots that you pointed out in your last post and I found the sizes and how to copy what I was looking for!! I am delighted. Thank you so much for your time and wonderful help. I really appreciate it. Problem solved!!
