I am still having problems with Thunderbird crashing on startup

I have been submitting Crash reports per business day except for the last couple.

Notably, I have 2 computers each with Thunderbird, each accessing the same account. I have no problem on the other computer. I am using no addons on the crashing computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version, computer restarts - still crashing. I have checked my RAM. 16GB on board - Basic Graphics Processing - Intel Iris XE.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

My Thunderbird recently updated itself to 128.2.0esr (32-bit). Right after that, my Gmail account in Thunderbird started a process of downloading messages into the Important Mail folder or All Mail and other folders. Thousands of them. It creeps along pausing occasionally, freezing my mail app, and can't do anything until it does whatever, then continues for a minute or two normally before freezing up again. It's possible most of the time to do something while it's downloading-- it halts then catches up and halts again in only a few seconds. Almost impossible to compose a message or read messages while it's downloading. Sometimes, if you click on something when it halts, it says "Thunderbird not responding" turns faded and crashes or have to go into task manager and end the process to get out of it. Right now, my mail is downloading with a total Important Mail quantity of (it reports now) 5787 messages. That quantity changes each time. I've left the mailer open just sitting there hoping it might finish whatever it needs to do, and then I can go about business without the freezing. But then it starts downloading mail again. Now it's switched over and doing it in All Mail-- 20,000 of those, and flipping between Sent Mail and then back to Important... The only workaround I've found is when it starts that activity, close the mailer and reopen it and then I have at least a few minutes to read or compose mail before it starts up and bollixes activity, and I have to close down and reopen to continue. I can find NO setting to adjust or turn this "feature" off. I have to go use the actual Gmail in a browser, which I hate, to get anything done. I've used Thunderbird since it first came out, even back to when it was Netscape mail before going independent as Mozilla and prefer to use it but can't with this downloading madness.

I've been having an error message popping up that says that FireFox is already running in the background, like my account has been locked but none of the fixes, fixed the issues. I'm really appreciate any help you can give me. I've had to make this report from Microsoft Edge in the meantime. Hopefully this can be fixed because Firefox has always been my preferred browser.

I get PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR when trying to load certain websites. I don't use any proxy or VPN, I tried disabling DoH. Also sometimes i get 403 forbidden cloudflare.

what? why is this still worrying about certs, when I clearly want to open up a non-ssl port, that's ridiculous, I gotta disable cache or delete it for this to go away at the least, I can't be using ssl on all the ports, that's an absolute pain

how do you get around this? how do you stop firefox from rewriting a http request to https?

RTX VSR still doesn't work at all. I have version 130 of firefox and no VSR. I've tried it on chrome and no issues there, it just works. I've always enjoyed using firefox and it bugs me that apparently this feature was added in update 126. Moreover there is multiple threads giving advice on how to get it working, I've tried all the methods and even then still haven't been able to use VSR on firefox.

for me, about:profiles currently shows my profile in use as:

2. I want it to say "Profile: Joey 10", or for that value to MATCH the filename of the root or local directory.

    What do I need to do?

I tried to download something from this website https://www.maxon.net/en/article/stamp-your-footage-onto-any-3d-solid?srsltid=AfmBOoqo9m0rrsDYUvZzXpyTs1uLPotn8tBr03C5c9iLl7mydQIP3AVM and told Firefox to save it to my dropbox desktop app. Some weird warning popped up about the fire path being invalid or something like that. So now when I go back and tryto choose a different download location, it wont download at all. I definitely remember having this same exact issue months ago and don't remember the solution. please help

Recently I found I can't view video clips on MSN, white rotating circle around Play button. U tube videos are no problem. I can view video clips on Safari, but Firefox is my preference. I have an Imac running Sonoma 14.6.1

For the past 2 weeks Firefox has been repeatedly crashing soon after going on to certain sites or trying to apply my 2FA authenticator add-on.

Suddenly there's a screen shudder and a new window opens, inviting me to submit a crash report. See attached image.

I do not believe that this is down to Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade done at end of August.

But it's enough for me to largely go over to Chromium and Firefox Dev Ed.

If Mozilla don't act on this crashing I can see its market being lost fairly fast.

I think Firefox used to be the best browser on the planet. However lately: Firefox has been randomly shutting down. Usually while I'm typing a comment or a reply to some comment.

Just tonight, I tried to buy a box of Bibles from the Gideons International, and when I clicked the Place Order button, nothing happened. I started the crappy Chrome browser, went to the Gideon website and created an order. When I clicked Place Order, it 'thought' for a few seconds and then said "Order Complete".

Quite often, when I click on a link, I receive a message telling me Firefox cannot connect to that site. Again, if I use Chrome, or even Brave, the link goes right through.

Months ago, I never had these problems. Are you people in the business of screwing up the best browser ever invented? Put Firefox back like it was when it worked.

SINCE FIREFOX IS MY BROWSER, HOW DO I PREVENT CERTAIN GAMES FROM TAKING CONTROL OF MY MOUSE ? I HATE IT WHEN THEY SLOW MY MOUSE DOWN OR WON'T LET ME MOVE,SOMETIMES IT CAUSES ME TO LOSE THE GAMES, VERY FRUSTRATING

For some reason, about a week ago, Firefox started lagging BADLY when saving any file. It will take like 20 seconds to load the "save as" popup and then, once saved and it closes, takes another 5 seconds to regain control and not make the error sound when I click.

Firefox loads quickly on every other aspect. And I have a beast of a laptop. It has an Intel Core i9 13th Gen 13900HX, 64GB of DDR5/6 RAM and a Nvidia RTX 4090 Laptop graphics chip. It also has Windows 11 Home. So it SHOULDN'T be this laggy. And I refreshed Firefox multiple times and even reinstalled it. NOTHING!

And, while I'm personally not complaining about the icons in the bar looking like they're from Windows 7 or something, I wonder if it's connected? Regardless, I NEED this fixed as it's damn near unusable for me. I'm in college for video game development, so things like this are the last thing I want to deal with...

I am having an issue with my new OLED monitor and GPU where Firefox is not able to correctly display the color of icons and various other sites and images correctly. I know this issue is directly related to firefox because every other browser and game or anything I use works perfectly in terms of color accuracy. Firefox is unable to be fixed. I have already tried changing the color settings within firefox many times and that has not helped. I have also already tried refreshing Firefox, completely uninstalling and reinstalling firefox among other things. So far there seems to be no fix. I have tried restarting my computer as well. The issue is persistent. I have attached an image of what it looks like compared to a reference of what it should be like.

When I try to upload a file with Firefox to a site (IO Groups) using HTTPS, almost every time the upload fails after about 65 seconds. I just tried MS Edge and found the files upload fine, even if they last 10 minutes or more. Is there a Firefox setting I can change to prevent this timeout?

More: I am using Windows Firefox v130.0, but this has been going on for months, so it's not just a problem with v130. I have timed the uploads as best I can, and it is always around 65 seconds, give or take a second or two. Less than 60 seconds means the uploads always succeed.

I am trying to access a live online webinar through Firefox which I usually use for webinars and some other things.( I have an older Apple computer and also use Safari). I try to access Summiteducation.com and when I click "Access course" an insecure connection warning comes up and I can't access. Can you help me? asap?Can you call me? Thanks for your help!
