I want to keep YAHOO as my homepage, how do I do this, I used to have it, then about 6 months ago, tuvaro took over and began, I changed it back to yahoo, but tuvaro took it back the very next time I opened up my browser. NOW Bing is doing the same thing. I do not like tuvaro or bing, I WANT my Yahoo back as my opening home page

It sounds like you have a third party program that has taken over your search engine, home page, and/or the default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be remedied easily:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

(quoting exactly from jscher2000)

  • Sometimes a bad add-on will have a very bland name. If you do not remember installing it, but you think it might be useful, consider disabling it temporarily to see whether that helps.
  • If the extension does not have a Remove button, it generally needs to be removed using the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. My suggestion on that is to click the "Installed on" column heading to group the items by date. You may find that the program you installed snuck several additional things onto your system that were not disclosed.

After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox. AFterwards, you can set your home page back to Yahoo.
