In spite of my settings firefox keeps deleting all the temp data. All of the cookies and temp files keep deleting, I have checked my settings repeatedly and it is set to save the data and it is not set to delete data upon closing firefox. All I have to do for the data for a site to be deleted is to close the tab.

What do you have installed as far as Security applications or anti-malware applications?

Some of those types of applications have features to clear browser data.

The only application of that type on my pc is malware bytes, and I don't have it run active protection.

History and cookies can be removed or not recorded several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings
    (Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.
