The university math class I am taking stated that Mozilla was the best browser to use for my school work. The lab (online) work requires QuickTime and now I discover that Mozilla is blocking the program and it appears that Apple has gone dark on the issue. Do software developers understand how much trouble is caused when things are changed mid-stream? So, what am I supposed to do if I and probably many others can't get our homework done?:(

This is not a recent change either by Apple or Mozilla.

April 18, 2016: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/blocked/p1151

Why was it blocked? The QuickTime Plugin for Windows has been discontinued by Apple and has known critical security vulnerabilities. All users are strongly encouraged to remove it or keep it disabled

Besides Quicktime is not needed if university site is done properly and you are using Windows 7 or newer. From https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201175

QuickTime 7 for Windows is no longer supported by Apple. New versions of Windows since 2009 have included support for the key media formats, such as H.264 and AAC, that QuickTime 7 enabled. All current Windows web browsers support video without the need for browser plug-ins.

And VLC can help of course.
