Hi Someone can help this? In any way I tried to change and remove, the following site overrides any settings as home page.

http://www.globasearch.com/?serie=211&b=2&installkey=Qax20FZN4DdvS8Vf5eB3

I cannot remove with any security soft neither.

globasearch, uppersearch, they change the name but they seem to be the same malware search engine.

I tried a general Firefox troubleshooting tip by tweaking 'Property' => 'Shorcut' tab. I cannot find any trace of this globasearch in the corner. All I can see is;

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

not followed by 'www.globasearch.com' or nothing.

I do not know where to remove this. I also failed to remove it with adware cleaner neither.

At least do you have any good idea to remove this software(search engine)? Cant find any relevant suspicious names on installed software neither.

It sounds like you have a third party program that has taken over your search engine, home page, and/or the default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be remedied easily:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This add-on will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox and then uninstalls itself.

For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.

Did this fix the problem? Please let us know!

hi this is the screenshot of the setting of 'home page' overwritten by the globasearch.

they may say uppersearch as well.

They keep coming back, regardless I left in blank or put a particular website set as a 'home page' (starting page).

Hi Wesley, Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I cannot find any relevant page, such as 'search engine' column on 'Add-ons' - 'Extensions' corner.

Please look at the screenshot I took below.

Thanks,

Thanks Wesley.

Anyway I have just installed your recommended Add-on 'Search Reset' Tool.

Thanks, I would like to see how it goes. I'll let you know after using this add-on.

The thing is though, I would like to get rid of this malicious search engine (software) completely from my PC though..

Thanks,

[Wesley's advice I followed:] "After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This add-on will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox and then uninstalls itself."
