Hi All,

I'd like to edit the SMTP settings for my gmail account. I've been using Thunderbird for a gmail account for years. I've updated security settings on gmail and now my password is falling. I'm trying with no luck to trouble shoot the problem, so I want to look at the SMTP settings to make sure they are correct, but all I can do is select the outgoing server, but that's it.

Would love help with the SMTP server settings or fixing it so I can go back to checking gmail w/ Thunderbird.

FYI: I'm on a Mac. Thunderbird 52.3.0 (64-bit)

if you have managed to get to your incoming server settings. Scroll the list in the account settings dialog to the bottom and find Outgoing server (SMTP).

However I am assuming you have turned off "less secure" apps on Gmail and therefore you have to create an app password on gmail for Thunderbird to use. Or if you account is IMAP you can change the connection security to oauth2.0. But you will still need an application password if you have enabled two factor authentication.
