Shortly after the last Firefox update, I can't get my homepage to open completely. It only happens on the homepage no matter what the homepage is. If I go to a different site and access my homepage via a search, it opens fine.

Hi, there appears to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off cleartype font rendering within their windows settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn cleartype back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings

If the above works please let us know.

I tried this suggestion but no luck. I still only get partial images and script if trying to open my homepage. BTW, Google Chrome works fine.

Please try 7min fix : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please update Flash 28 as it is a security risk. Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.113 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Is there any small difference between the URL of your home page and the one you find in search, or completely identical?

Does it make any difference if you:

(A) Reload the page bypassing the cache -- Ctrl+Shift+r

(B) Change the zoom level by one tick -- hold Ctrl and tap either + or -

Thanks for your reply. Changing the zoom level did load the page but when logged out then back in, the same problem occurs. I think I'll try uninstalling Firefox again but this time delete all related files before reinstalling. Thanks again.

Thank you all for your help. I tried pkshadows idea but the problem persists. Home page only partially opens. Images and text are fragmented and incomplete. But as I indicated, changing the zoom level cures it until the next time I log on.

Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> "Use custom settings for history" -> cookies: "Show cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
