Why doesn't LastPass open in a new tab when I sign in?

When I sign into LastPass on Chrome, the vault opens in a new tab. But on Firefox, when the vault opens it will open in whatever tab I happen to already be on. Is there any way I can set things so it opens in an entirely new tab?

That would be a question for LastPass support. They created that add-on for Firefox and they should know if they provided an option that would make it work the same on Firefox as they do with Chrome.
