How can I transfer all Thunderbird settings / parameters / icons from my old pc to my new pc ?
I have setup and configured Thunderbird successfully on my old PC and want to transfer this configuration (settings+parameters+icons+menu views,...etc.) to my new PC. Despite having searched and checked all menus, the help file and using the web I could not find how to do it. Again, I wish to export the settings from my old PC and then re-import those into my new pc. I want to avoid to reconfigure everything from scratch on the new PC. Please me and let me know how to do this. Find attached an example for the menu icons and view settings.

Dear sfhowes, thanks for your fast response and reaction. your suggestion helped me to transfer my profile to the new PC but it causes a fatal crash of Thunderbird and I had to re-install TB and setup everything from scratch on the new PC. It looks like the reliability and quality of TB is inferior to other mail programs. Kind regards
What is the security/AV app on the new computer? Many of them cause TB to crash if the profile folder isn't excluded from AV scanning, which has always been the general recommendation.
AVIRA Antivirus PRO runs successfully on my PC and the antivius scanner did not report any issues during the installation of TB. Please let me know what are the recommended settings using TB and AVIRA. I propose to modify and update the TB installation and user guide to avoid such issues to potential future users. I wait for your response.
'while you are modifying the guides, you might ask Avira what setting to use to stop such problems. I would challenge your statement that is runs successfully on your PC if it is causing program crashes in other programs.
However what was the crash ID from your crash? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb#w_viewing-crash-reports
as stated, I reinstalled TB from scratch on my new PC as the instructions given did not help and spent a lot of time to set TB operational. If I would have known beforehand that its tricky and complex I would ....
