fireFox
I am very annoyed by Fire FOX and the forced updates that cannot be turned off. If I can't turn this off somehow, I'll have to give up Fire Fox. I also find it terrible that I am being patronised, spied on and coerced by an organisation that pretends to be for people. Because that's what it is when they check against my will whether I have installed the new update. Even if it's free, I don't deserve it. Then I'd rather pay for my freedom. It is terrible that this software sniffs out whether I need an update and then annoys me with it. I can take care of myself and my security and don't need Mozilla for that. I just wanted a browser and not a mum. Can anyone tell me what parameters to change in this about:config so that Firefox no longer communicates with its base against my will and no longer reminds me to download updates?

I understand how you feel. I did not like where Firefox is going and stopped updating at v54.
How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/
You can use a policies.json file in the distribution folder in the Firefox installation folder instead as also listed in the article, so no need to use GPO keys in the Windows Registry. • https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customizing-firefox-using-policiesjson
