Firefox Android app doesn't recognize it's own scan

Trying to sync Android firefox app with laptop. Firefox Android app installed. Check. Open android settings, turn on sync. Check. QR code on laptop screen. Check. Touch "scan" button at lower frame of Firefox

Error message: "Did you use the system camera? You must pair from within a Firefox app." No, I did not use system camera. Yes, I did activate it from the firefox app/scan button - REPEATEDLY. Somehow, firefox does not recognize it's own activation of my system camera. Please help, I need the bookmarks off my phone and onto laptop. Thank you.

You may wish to consider using the email method to connect your Android device to your Firefox Account.
