My existing email provider (iiNet) here in Australia is no longer offering an email service. I have been recommended (by iiNet) to transfer to a company called 'The Messaging Company'. Already I have had an issue with the Messaging Company on account of their poor customer service. I note that Thunderbird has a Global Inbox. Does this mean that you are able to offer me an email service that will allow me to keep my current email address?: brucepitt@iinet.net.au If you are able to help, an estimate of the cost for this service would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation, Bruce Pitt Queensland Australia

To clarify, Thunderbird is an email client, not an email provider. The price is free, although we survive only by user donations. I believe you will lose that email address when the provider drops service and will need a different one. There are many alternatives available, with some free (such as gmail.com and gmx.com), and fee-based (such as fastmail.com). You can use Thunderbird to administer the email account from PC, Linux, or Mac.
