Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks that you should update.

  1. Shockwave Flash 10.0 r32
  2. Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_19 for Mozilla browsers

Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.

I have updated all java and all adobe and it is still not working. I cannot search for anything nor can I access my favorites or anything else requiring linking to another page-----not since the last FF upgrade which seems to come every few days.

This frustrated the heck out of me. I'm pretty sure it's because of some JavaScript setting that I messed around with a while ago. It surely is not caused by any addon/plugin. I have tried running in safe mode to no effect.

Nonetheless, I have found the answer:

First and foremost, DO update all your add-ons and plug-ins. And if that doesn't work, continue on.

Close all instances of Firefox.

Click your Start Menu > Programs > Mozilla > Firefox (Safe Mode)

A prompt will pop up. Check "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults." Click the "Make Changes and Restart" button. Voila! Go to youtube.com and click a random video, you should be able to navigate the uploader's information about the video now.
