I reset my homepage to Yahoo.com. when I open additional windows, the reset homepage works. when I close all sessions and open again.. the homepage is rest to www.rogers.com/smartkey? Rogers is my internet provider. When I question them, they tell me that they do not support Firefox.. what is causing my homepage to be continually changed/overwritten.. where can I look to change this?

I had the same problem. Called Rogers and the first thing they said is "we dont support Firefox" then said they wouldn't hijack a browser (right!) Their next suggestion was to clear all cookies and cache, if that has no effect uninstall Firefox and then install again. Well I've been in this business a long time and really didn't beleive their response, but did it anyway. No joy, fresh install and the same issue. So did another unistall, then looked in the ProgramFiles/MozillaFirefox folder and low and behold there are a few things that are not uninstalled. One of them was a configuration file that contained guess what - a command to redirect homepage to rogers.com/smartkey

did another unistall and this time went back in and deleted every remaining file from the Firefox folder. Fresh install and now the problem has been resolved :)

My only regret was not keeping the config file to send to Rogers and say "ok, you don't hijack browsers, so explain this"

I doubt that the is much difference between your yahoo.com and the Rogers branded version, they would both be customized in the same manner as it they are Yahoo. What difference do you see other than an extra logo?

Bring up about:config and and filter on www.rogers.com/smarkey and also filter on my.yahoo

The first page is blank. with a prompt to click here if redirect doesn't automatically take me to the page.. Then it brings up the Rogers yahoo page.. I just want yahoo.com Not sure what you mean by bring up about:config.. and filter.. etc.. how do I do that.. where do I do that.. I just want my homepage to stay on yahoo.com

Thank you so much gmcotton for your suggestion.. It worked.. although the first time I reloaded Firefox.. it gave me an error message saying that my config file was missing and to contact my administrator.. I then deleted everything.. including my bookmarks.. and reloaded and it works great now.. No longer have that annoying roger.com/smartkey replacing my homepage...
