Firefox 3.6 WindowsXP Pro...........Adobe flashplayer 10 used to work fine until it updated to version 11. Now its broken???
Firefox was great until new adobe flash update,it works fine in IE8, but I do prefer FF browser...now it tells me to upload plugins, so when I try to comply I am offered Version 10.3 so I go on with that until its installing nearly 50% & then FFox realises that a newer version (namely Flashplayer 11) is already on my laptop & then it stops......leaving me completely unable to use FFox at all??? Why is FFox only offering me the page with this wrong version(10.3) ???? Can we get FFox to correct this ?? Thanking you, yours sincerely...liamo777

Hello SafeBrowser........ Well FFox still fails to install adobe flash 11 in MSG Games when instructed to download this plugin & every attempt to download 11 from other sites ended in being offered the wrong version namely 10.3 as I said before. So I stayed at it and sorted it out. I wiped everything to do with Version 11 and reinstalled Version 10.3 .......& I like computers and if I know a fix I'll post it, all this I look at as learning something new everyday but it very time consuming. There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
- an ActiveX version for IE only
- a Plugin version for most other browsers including Firefox
- On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
- only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
- page will detect only installed, enabled Plugins
Install or update Adobe Flash
- Using Firefox, go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus"):
- When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit OR Firefox button > Exit)
- Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
- In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
- The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
- The installation is quick.
- Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
- To update/install the ActiveX version for IE only, repeat the process, but use IE to go to the above website.
NOTE: Some users of 64-bit systems have found it necessary to download, Save and install (with Firefox closed) the 32-bit Plugin for Firefox manually from the following (4th link labeled "32 bit Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)"):

You are in serious need of updating your Firefox version. You appear to be using Firefox 3.6 and the current version of that series is 3.6.28, indicating that you are 28 updates behind. Note that support for the 3.6.x series is due to end in about 2 weeks after which there will be no further updates and that version will no longer be supported.
Firefox 11 is the current version

It appears that you have Google Toolbar 7.1 installed.
Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer version. It is best to move on to other alternatives than to try any "hacks" to the toolbar that may or may not perform in the future. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. Google Toolbar is not available on any other browser, even Google's own browser.

I did as instructed & 50% of the way through installing, STOPS with Msg NEWER VERSION ALREADY INSTALLED. Green check-mark & goodbye, done. BUT its not fixed, it still says I need flash on MSN Games Center.com. I have my FFox plug-in page bookmarked, I just checked it & everything is in the Green. Can you tell me if this is a FFox problem or an Adobe problem?? thanking you outthere for any help & ideas, yours sincerely...liamo777
Shockwave Flash did not show in your original information, it is therefore not installed in Firefox or is disabled (click "More system details" to the right of your original question and look for "Shockwave Flash" under Plugins).
Did you do as instructed in the 2nd paragraph of my previous reply?: "..in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button."
Did you use Firefox to download the correct version of Flash? You can not use IE, as you will download the IE only version.

Hello SafeBrowser....firstly as I said b4, I did exactly as you said & as there was no Shockwave flash onboard then add-ons,plugins,enable,disable was of no consequence, so why mention it, Im no computer expert & I,m not a two year old either, now getting back to the problem that I explained in detail...why am I still getting offered a download which its never going to accept in a month of Sundays??????? Its like a perpetual circle and a complete waste of time. I did download Shockwave flash by the way, hoping that the inclusive adobe flash might free up the problem, went and tried Msn games online but still wants plugins. I look forward to you reply&will you answer some of those questions I asked earlier, thanking you, yours sincerely...liamo777

And I am not a mind reader. I do have over 30 years experience working with computers, writing code and training users. We are all uncompensated volunteers who are here trying to help Firefox users solve problems. Trying to help someone with a problem at a distance while not being in front of their system watching what the user is doing is difficult to say the least. The exchange of communication must be clear and complete. Always be appreciative of free assistance.
You said before "...STOPS with Msg NEWER VERSION ALREADY INSTALLED" which means that it appears to the installer that you have Flash installed on your system, but, as I pointed out, Flash did not show in your plugins with your original post. A plugin will not show in the list of installed plugins when posting a question on this forum only if 1). it is not installed, or 2). if it is installed but disabled.
My last suggestion to you:
- completely remove all Flash from your system using the instructions and un-installers from Adobe as outlined here --> http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
- download and run the installer as mentioned in my first reply
- if you have IE installed on your system, you must do as instructed in my first reply regarding IE
- if you have a 64-bit version of your OS, the instructions for installing the 32-bit version of Flash needed by Firefox (which is a 32-bit application/browser) are also included in my first reply
IMPORTANT: It is possible that some of your problems might be solved if you updated your very old and unsupported Firefox 3.6 to the current Firefox 11.0 and use alternatives to the Google Toolbar as suggested in my first reply. Firefox 12 is due to be released on April 24, 2012.

Flash version 11 requires Firefox 4 or above. Firefox versions 4-10 are no longer supported. Firefox 11 is currently supported. Firefox 12 will be released on April 24. 2012.
- See --> https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html (3rd bullet item under Windows)
As I suggested before, you should update to Firefox 11. If you are currently using Firefox 3.6, you are 28 revisions behind; the current version is 3.6.28 and support for the 3.6.x versions is scheduled to end on April 24, 2012, meaning no more security or other updates for the 3.6.x series of Firefox.
