Using system proxy (work machine), which uses an automatic configuration script. Tried disabling all addons/extensions to no luck. Uninstalled and re-installed a clean version with a new profile, same result. The "no proxy" setting will allow me to access my local server, but that's it. I cannot find any settings that give me access outside of localhost. All other browsers work just fine.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Are you saying uninstalling and re-installing firefox fresh is not the same or better than a "reset". Either way, I tried that, and it didn't do anything.

No, uninstalling and reinstalling leaves your, potentially corrupt, profile alone, while a reset repairs it.

What proxy settings are you using?

Ahh, well, when I uninstalled I had it remove the profile info (for just that reason, I've ran into issues with corrupt profiles in the past), but regardless, I had performed your reset just in case. Using the system proxy setting. Been tinkering a bit, and when I copy the system settings over to set FF up manually, I am able to connect, however this is not a good option for me, as my proxy config file location changes constantly depending on whichever VPN I'm on at the time (work computer). So really the issue here is that firefox seems unable to use the system settings properly. I have been following system setting bugs in previous FF versions, as I noticed if the system config file location changed, firefox would not register the change until IE was opened and closed. This was a minor annoyance, as all that was required to fix the issue was opening and closing IE (which I've tried numerous times just in case that was part of the issue), however now it appears system settings to not work for me at all, at least not when the system setting is using an automatic config script. Thanks for the replies.
