See:

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

Rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default value.

If it's both on your home page, and your new tab, then to first change your home page, go to options, then to the general tab. There will be options of how you want your home page to be. To change your new tab, type about:config in the address bar, and accept the warning if it's there. Then in that address bar type in browser.newtab.url. Right click it and then hit modify, and then type in the address you want to show up in your new tabs.

You might want to uninstall some plugins first (like wildtangent games), also, check if there are not programs in control panel that you do not recognize. This should be done to ensure that Snap.Do won't come back. You can use Adwcleaner or other Anti-malware pogram as well. After that

  1. Enter “about:config” in url bar. This will open settings page
  2. Type “Keyword.url” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
  3. Type “browser.search.defaultengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
  4. Type “browser.search.selectedengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
  5. Search for ‘browser.newtab.url’. Right-click and reset. This will make sure that the search page won’t launch on each new tab.

Based on your recommendations I paid $70 for and installed "SpyHunter and ReHunter." This did a scan of my system, but did not delete "Snap.Do" search

What have I done wrong?

Note: Snapdo is not a virus or male-ware, so scanning it won't find it.

Win 7... Step 1, Go to "my computer" search "Snapdo" and delete or shred all the files.

Step 2, Open your browser and enter "about:config" in the url address bar. Search for "Snapdo" and you will find 2 exe files. Right click and modify / rename both to - http://google.com or whatever search engine you want. DO NOT close your browser...

Step 3, Go to Google.com and repeat step 2. The "Snapdo" threads should be gone!

Rinse and repeat if necessary! :D Worked for me!

RESOFT wrote this pain in the "Rear" application.

Try to uninstall it through "Start" and "Search" to see if there is a file under that name. Then go to "My Computer" and "Search" to see if the file / folder is there.

If you still cannot uninstall it. Download Glary Utilities 4. it's free through Cnet. Yet remember, when you download freeware... click the advanced settings in the download prompt and pay attention to ALL the questions, because that's how you got the program in the FIRST place. Decline everything and study Glary Utilities 4 and it will find it and remove it. (So will Advanced System Care 7; still free!

Read on...

The Best uninstaller I have found so far.."IObit Uninstaller". Yes, it is free and very powerful because it will do a double take on the uninstalled program(s). It actually removes all related files attached to the original application, but you have to wait for the "Power Search" icon after the first sweep to properly use it. Sweet!

Also, Glary Utilities 4 is very cool. It can shred files and wipe ALL your "So called free space" off of your hard-drives... FOREVER! Note; you have to be very patient with the "Wipe" feature because it takes quite a while! (2 / 3 Hours) It may NOT seem to be working, yet move your cursor every 15 min. and you will see the progress bar move. Another note; this FREE program is very sophisticated and it has some fantastic applications from the our Tax Dollars / go-ment.  ;)

Hope this Helps!
