Toolbar is disabled but is not the latest version allegedly compatible with firefox 23.

All norton updates installed and many reboots.

I did the firefox update on the two machines at the same time. only one is ok.Toolbar worked on old firefox (22?) One machine now shows norton 4.1.2 (disabled) and one shows 4.2.2. (working).

No, I have not reinstalled anything yet. Today I will be doing a major backup with disc image etc. So I may try a reinstall after that . I have found a link to a Norton reinstaller. I will let the community know if that worked. I know this may sound over-cautious but I have the impression that Norton's reputation is not that great! I can survive without the toolbar but you also lose the reassuring safe web browsing functionality. By the way I had no problems with an old Win XP 3rd machine which runs the 3rd Norton licence. !! So I can browse with that. It's in the same room as the Win7 machine with problems. UPDATE:: Sept 01 11.00 GMT 3 hours later: Nope! Still no change. Norton reinstalled . Toolbar still not visible in Firefox. Add-ons still shows old incompatible version of toolbar still disabled (4.1.2) Maybe a reinstall of Firefox? 5 mins later. Oh dear.!!I just fired up internet explorer.!! Guess what? There is a Norton toolbar!!

30 mins later: YAY!! After a couple of Norton Live updates and reboots with firefox 23 shut down I now have the bloody toolbar!

Any advice for Firefox 24 update welcome!!

Thanks anyway.
