Firefox.exe does not terminate when selecting exit
Starting with v25.0, and then with 25.0.1, firefox.exe does not terminate after closing all tabs or selecting exit (red 'X' or File/Exit). I have to enter Task Manager and end the process in order to start a new Firefox session. This never happened in any previous version.
I'm running Win 7 Pro 64-bit.
Any ideas?

Hello,
You should restart your pc. May be problem resolved. thank you
See:

I havejust got this problem with version 25.0.1. Firefoz#x appears to teminate normally, but it still has a presence in Task Maanager with hung remains in RAM. This disables a few anti-malware/firewall and clean up applications, as well as preventing Firefox from restarting.
I did not have this problem until Firefox 26. Twice, now, I have had to kill the process in task manager. I believe it may have to do with my custom setting of 100 MB for cache. I did try deleting the parent.lock file but it was 0 KB.
I also have this problem which started with Firefox 26. However it only happens on one of three computers, the slowest one using Vista. It implies the problem is new commands within that version which on shutdown conflict and freeze the .exe file in Processes AFTER the application is actually shut down. Ie; something a slow computer cannot accomplish but most fast computers can "keep up". If this makes any sense......
Update to the above:
I tried the troubleshooting reset and of course that didn't work because Firefox exe would not leave Processes. So I uninstalled Firefox, restarted, cleaned registry etc., restarted, then installed Firefox and now it does close.
It seems a few people have this problem. With the new version 26 it is less frequent.
A lot of Web problems are solved my using Wise PC 1st Aid untility (its free from Wise site). It solved all my shortcut/text URL hyperlink problems and other Internet problems. Might work....
