You can try to toggle the Boolean pref browser.shell.shortcutFavicons on the about:config page.
thank you but I am a simple user of PCs .
I just would like to keep the icon from any specific site I visit when I move it into bookmarks and then move it to my desktop for a quick access later....... For example: https://particuliers.societegenerale.fr/
I would like to keep the red and black symbol/icon that appears on the upper left corner of this site, and also in the bookmarks when I bookmark this site. But when I move the bookmark (as an Internet link to click on) to my desktop this icon changes to a Mozilla icon.
I tried to use your suggestion and I do not think that this is a solution I can use for my particular problem Vernon

I think that if you move the bookmark to your desktop you will need to create a ico file because the shortcut in desktop is a shortcut to firefox and firefox understand that shortcut is a link to a site
Did you try to toggle the browser.shell.shortcutFavicons pref that I mentioned in my above reply?
You can open the about:config page via the location bar.
Let me give a comparison....
1. With Internet Explorer I go to the following site. https://particuliers.societegenerale.fr/
2. I add this site to my favorites lists.
3. I open my favorite list and I see next to the link an Icon from the site (red and black flag)
4. I drag this entry to the desktop, or into a folder on the desktop, and the red and black SocGen icon stays with the link and does not change to a Firefox icon.
5. I'd like to do that with Mozilla if I can Vernon
