This problem has been on-going for over a year on my desktop computer. My laptop, which has the same operating system, the same Norton 360 Premier, and the same Firefox does not have this problem. Last year, spent 8+ hours with Norton Level Two tech support and we finally concluded that the problem was my Firefox configuration would not recognize the Norton Toolbar extension. When I look at my Norton Identity Safe settings it shows: Internet Explorer: Everything is OK; Google Chrome: Everything is OK; Mozilla Firefox (default browser): Status could not be determined I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both programs numerous times with no success. I need to find a way to completely, totally, unequivocally remove all vestiges of Firefox to enable an absolutely clean reinstall.

Changing the profile did not work. The only extension that appears is one for Skype that I had previously disabled. Running Norton Live Update did not make the Norton Toolbar reappear. Same message as before in Norton..."Mozilla Firefox (default browser): Status could not be determined". I am going to try to use my PowerDesk file manager to eliminate all traces of files associated with Mozilla and do the same thing in RegEdit.

I uninstalled Firefox and Seamonkey using the standard uninstall process and using IObit Uninstaller for a deep uninstall. Then I used PowerDesk to find and delete all traces of Firefox, Seamonkey, and Mozilla from my drive. Then I used RegEdit to remove any vestiges of those programs from the registry. Rebooted and reinstalled Firefox and Norton 360. Ran LiveUpdate until there were no more updates available. Same problem and Norton indication as articulated above. I wish someone could tell me what files are associated with Norton Toolbar for Firefox and where they should be located.
