I receive errors all the time saying "login to server secure.emailsrvr.com has failed"
Hi all!
I love using Thunderbird app, but I cannot seem to get things to work for me. A few details about our situation so I can help get a good accurate resolution.
We use Thunderbird for our business. We currently have 10 users all reading from the same email account. I tag people in emails so they can respond to the ones pertinent to them. This makes for a less stressful time than 10 people all sorting through the same emails.
The addons everyone uses are:
-rethread v 0.1 -Tag Toolbar v 0.8.35 (this is how I tag emails)
Every day all of our users always receive the same error.
Login to server secure.emailsrvr.com has failed
Then it requires us to retype in the same password already saved in the form on Thunderbird.
We have to do this multiple times every day, and It results in people missing emails. I have tried a number of things to fix the solution as followed:
-Triple checking everyones server credentials as well as password -I have tried saving our password as a normal and an encrypted password -I have confirmed our server credentials with Rackspace (Our email provider) -I have restarted thunderbird as well as the computer associated on numerous occasions -I have tried disabling extensions -Changing the account password doesn't work either.
Some more information:
-We are using an IMAP Mail Server -Some of our stations are on macs, some are on PC -Rackspace has no clue how to help us get it to work -Each user has only one email registered on their Thunderbird machine. -Our default server setting to check for new messages is every 10 minutes. -all computers associated are hardwired into our commercial grade server board. -All machines are on Thunderbird Version 31.4.0 -I know for a fact that our "Server Settings" is 100% correct
I hope I gave all relevant information on this problem and look forward to a response.
Thank you All!

What is the maximum number of connections allowed by rackspace.
IMAP is usually based on multiple connections as it speeds things up. Thunderbird defaults to 5. This can be modified by going to Tools > accounts settings > server setting > advanced. ALso check the box to use idle if available and ask rackspace about it specifically.
Idle is basically push mail, so the server pushes out new mail upon receipt. So there is less need for 10 minute synchronization if new mail is automatically pushed.
I will try and change those two settings to what you suggest and see if it gets us anywhere. I just have to check all 10 computers ha!
I will get back to you and let you know if your contribution has gotten us some headway.
Much appreciated.
Also, Should I put something in the box titled "IMAP server directory"? It is currently blank.

Probably not. The usual is inbox. But that is for servers that store all sub folders off the inbox.
Thanks again for helping me out!
The solutions that you gave me seem to fix some of the issues present. I noticed that the computers that are on the most recent operating systems work fine. But (maybe this is just a random thing) It seems like the computers that have issues would be on older Os such as windows 7 ultimate and The older apple OS.
I dont know if there is a glich associated with Thunderbird and these specific OS's but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the errors are due to that.
Any feedback on that?
