My Firefox install is still running 32 bit not 64 as I wish. I even allowed auto-update, something I never do with software but still no joy. Windows 7 +sp1 soon, hopefully and I think, upgrade to Windows 10.

Solução escolhida

Firefox 40.0 for Windows from mozila.org is 32-bit as there is no Win64 release.

If all goes well Firefox 41.0 will have Win64 for Release. It was planned briefly to have a quiet Win64 release for Fx 40.0 but was decided to wait for Fx 41.0.

Also anybody who is running 32-bit Firefox on Windows will get updated to 32-bit and not Win64.

Even when Win64 Firefox is released you may have to look in the Systems & Languages link (below green button on mozilla.org) which is www.mozilla.org/firefox/all
