I can no longer sign in to firefox since windows 10 upgrade
Since the windows 10 upgrade, here is what has happened. 1. My Android smart phone has tried to sync with my laptop. Yahoo mail is my default. 2. Google and Yahoo mail work fine on my phone. 3. I never set up a "MASTER" password for Firefox. 4. Firefox recognizes my email for yahoo but not my p/w. 5. The p/w that I have been using for 9 years is not recognized for Firefox. BUT I used it for this forum. 6. Every time I use a p/w I get the message to log in with my Master p/w. I choose cancel. Then continue. 7. How can I reset, hopefully "WITHOUT LOOSING MY FAVORITES"

If there is a master password set, but you do not know or remember the master password then you will have to reset the master password. If you reset the master password then you lose all passwords stored in the Password Manager. You may want to create a backup copy of the logins.json and key3.db files in the Firefox profile folder in case you want to check what passwords are stored.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can open the logins.json file in the Scratchpad (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) for inspection to see if it contains names and passwords. Click the "Pretty Print" button to format the file for readability.
