Hello,

I'm having issues with our Firefox Esr 45.0.2 auto updating. I have these update urls in my .cfg file (aus4.mozilla.org, aus5.mozilla.org, download.mozilla.org, download.cdn.mozilla.net). We have Firefox locked down to one site and those urls I just posting are a part of lockPref("network.proxy.no_proxies_on". These are windows 7 machines. I was wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot this a bit. I've also deleted the upload folder but that did not change anything. I know it looks because I can see it quickly change when I go into the help/about and I know 45.1 esr is out there.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks,

Scott

Try to use the Live Http Headers extension to see what server domain Firefox uses to check for update e.g. by opening "Help > About".

hmmm well using live hhtp headers is how I got the initial download urls. I guess I will have to go through my text file again.

Thanks..

OK so I reinstalled htt headers and these are the download places I have in my mozilla cfg file.

aus4.mozilla.org aus5.mozilla.org download.mozilla.org download.cdn.mozilla.net

Are there others I need? What's odd is two of my windows 10 machines recognized these and went to 45.1, but none of my windows 7 machines update. They do not fail they just never seem to check, and I have deleted the update folder in a couple I am using for testing. What am I missing?

One other question for you guys - How do I get it to autoupdate along the esr line? Now it seems I have to go into about Firefox for it to check.

Thanks for the help so far.

Are you using the 45.0.2 Release or the 45.0.2 ESR ?

They are two different channels.

For Release I know updates were disabled on Wednesday after 46.0 Release and should be enabled again today unless otherwise. Not sure about updates on ESR channel and cannot check easily at moment as I am on a slow tablet. The 45.1.0esr is in line with 46.0 Release.

I'm using the ESR release. Sorry I thought I put that in there. ;)

Hello thanks for all your responses. I've been able to get my Firefox ESR clients out to update but as it stands I still have to go into the about firefox to get it to check and then update.

I've looked in the mozilla.cfg and the autoupdate is set to true but it's not doing that. I've installed livehttp headers which were helpful to get those urls into the .cfg for my proxy. So now I just need to figure the autoupdate out. Does anyone have ESR successfully auto updating that can help me?

Thanks,

Scott
