I'd like to make middle clicking back page/refresh buttons not take me to the newly opened tab.
I just switched to firefox and one issue that I'd like to change is to make it so when I middle click on the backspace or refresh buttons, it doesn't automatically take me to the newly created tab. I had this issue with middle clicking links in pages and middle clicking on bookmarks, but I managed to fix both of those. I went to about:config, searched inbackground, and changed all those values to true, which as I said fixed the issue for middle clicking bookmarks, but there doesn't seem to be an option listed for backspace or refresh.
Thanks!

Middle-clicking the Back button to launch the previous page in a new tab, or middle-clicking the Reload button to duplicate the current tab, are somewhat specialized features. I suspect they don't get enough use to have new preferences for active vs. background tab developed. We're still waiting for the address bar "open in new tab" option.
You could see whether anyone has requested it in the bug tracking system, or file a new bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
Oops, sorry, I think I'm supposed to welcome you to Firefox. Welcome aboard!
