There's one specific youtube video that I uploaded using Firefox that will not play on any Firefox browser, but will play on Safari, Chrome, Microsoft Edge.

I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, disabling all add-ons, refreshing the browser, reinstalling the browser, and starting the browser in safe mode. NONE of these work for this one specific video that I uploaded. I've never had this issue before

A private window does not share cache or cookies with the regular window, and so the issue could be either a problem cached file or a cookie that stores preferences or is keeping you logged in. (Private windows also have Content Blocking on by default, but unless this is an ad-related problem, that shouldn't be a factor.)

To reload a page bypassing cached files, you can use Ctrl+Shift+r.

If that doesn't make any difference, I suspect it's something related to saved YouTube cookies or being logged in.

In recent months, logged in users have reported some mysterious issues that couldn't be reproduced in anonymous access. I don't think I've seen an explanation for that.

Hi royalroy, does your Firefox support all the usual YouTube formats? You can check using this test page, look for blue checkboxes and any red X's:

https://www.youtube.com/html5

Assuming all is well there, could you compare the videos to see whether you notice any technical difference. While playing, right-click the video and choose "Stats for nerds". This will overlay a panel showing the video and audio codecs used. Does the one that doesn't work in Firefox use a different codec?

Do you notice any difference between being logged in to your Google/YouTube account and not being logged in? You can use a private window to test anonymous access if you are already logged in in your regular windows. (Right-click the link > Open Link in New Private Window)
