the problem with firefox going to a previous page and deleting all your typed work when you hit the backspace key is a known issue, for over eight years, and firefox has no intention of fixing the problem despite countless user complaints. the resulting loss in thousands of man-hours of work is not acceptable under any circumstances

but what is unacceptable aside from all the lost man-hours is that instead of mozilla immediately fixing the problem, it has allowed it to linger. i can no longer afford to use mozilla software. it's easier for me to delete all mozilla software from each and every one of my computers than have to keep track of the browser.backspace_action key for all of them. i'm going through all my drives and deleting everything to do with firefox

here's how to do it: download vivaldi browser and import all of your firefox settings: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11v63-MFUkOGVRm4Oia5EuW_ZTqVZosXl/view?usp=sharing

use this walkthrough to import all of your firefox tabs into vivaldi: https://browserengine.net/how-to-import-tabs-from-chrome-to-firefox-and-vice-versa/

search through all your drives for "mozilla" and "firefox", and delete everything, esp. having to do with "installer" or "setup" https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S5iAcWjC_wh0vNiWJujR-xk7lfhgihPJ/view?usp=sharing

there. you will never destroy your work by using the backspace key, and you can edit your typed work without fear of mozilla hijacking your browser and destroying all of your work

you can go the extra mile by putting every correspondence from mozilla that concerns donations into the spam folder

You can easily disable the backspace action by setting browser.backspace_action = 2 on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
