I no longer receive forwarded email from my work email account (MS Outlook) - "... recipient's email provider rejected it." This condition is new, previously have been able to receive forwarded email for several years.

the provider is the company whose name appears after the @ in your email address. Thunderbird is a mail client, a mail provider provides email addresses. In this case it will be the provider receiving the forwarded mail. They are refusing to accept it. Probably because they have decided it is spam.
It did not solve my problem, but did give some clarity about what direction to look. I do appreciate the time taken to respond - thank you!
