system does not bloat, crash under Seamonkey
Looks like a 10yr old computer... How many tabs? Same issue with Firefox in Safe Mode? Also try downloading Firefox from Mozilla, run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
old computer still faster than multi CPU laptops
one tab
one temporary solution is to about:memory free memory minimize memory usage
I wonder if there is a bad setting that decodes video in to RAM cache instead of flushing it. wuld rather flush or save to ssd

forgot to mention firefox refresh has been tried, no fix
been trying disable extensions one at a time
seems to be the recommended extension Video DownloadHelper causing the issues I thought I had disabled it previously, damn
Glad to hear you found the issue. Mark is as resolved if you have no other questions and have a good day.
