101210-Firefox version 3.6.13 was released this morning. I searched its details to see if a fix for the conflict between version 3.6.12 and Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 was included in the bug fixes. I found no reference to this in the documentation provided. I decided to try it anyway, so after I updated Firefox to version 3.6.13, I installed Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 to get the Flash Player Plugin back. I restarted my Vista x64 PC and immediately noticed that Firefox was again mired in mud so I uninstalled Flash Player again. It sure is a hassle to be without Flash Player. I tried out Chrome again, but it just can't deal with my bookmark collection.

Firefox 3.6.13 isn't available in a 64-bit version, unless you are using a 3rd party build, but a 3rd party build shouldn't be named "Firefox" - it would be Namoroka, except when the "builder" gave it its' own name.

Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, not 64-bit ones, regardless of the Operating System. Plus there's two different versions of Flash, the ActiveX version for IE and the Plugin version of other browsers.

Did you have the correct version of Flash for Firefox 3.6.13?

edmeister,

I wondered what the meaning of the 64 in 10.1.102.64 was. Maybe it means 64-bit? Anyway, thanks for your post.

I went to (Adobe\Downloads\Get Adobe Flash Player\Different operating system or browser?\Windows 7/Vista/XP/2008/2003/2000\Flash Player 10.1 for Windows - Other Browsers) and downloaded Flash Player 10.1. Adobe gave no version information. Then, with no Flash Player Plugin installed on my Vista x64 PC, I installed from the file I had just downloaded. Then I restarted the PC and went to YouTube to test Flash Player Plugin. Not a single video I tried to run would even load. Firefox was mired in glue just like before.

Can you suggest anything else?
