firefox 3.6.13 lost color graphics display on google home page and other maps

Have been running firefox for a few months and it has been performing fine - today the colored graphic on the google main screen has disapeared as well as the map in the bom.gov.au pages.

The graphics display fine on IE.


Reinstall has not fixed the problem.

How do I get the graphics back?
