FireFox runs away with my memory n CPU (up to 99% and 250K)

sometimes (often in fact) my computer gets real slow, I open task manager and fine FireFox is using anywhere up to 250K of memory and at tiem not using any CPU, other times CPU usage is 99%+ and memory is lower but same result have to close FireFox I have run all kinds of anti this and anti that, , but still no result, , and in control panel it does nothing when I try to uninstall it, am running XP home FireFox3.6.9

Go to Tools | Add-ons | Plugins and disable SpiralFrog. This company went out of business in 2009 and it's servers have ceased to function. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpiralFrog

If the problem persists, please try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

no spiral frog, only 2 addons but safe mode did it i think, but I have slept since then but THANKS
