Unfortunately there are no official 32-bit versions of Java for mac. You might want to give SoyLatte a try if you are willing to go with an unofficial version without Aqua integration.

Do you have a 32 bit Java version installed (if there is such a version for Mac)?

A 64-bit browser (Safari or Firefox, for example) is required to run Java 7 on Mac OS X. Java 7 does not support 32-bit browsers such as Chrome on the Mac platform.

Is there a Java 6 version available for your OS?

Hey you guys! Thanks so much for replying so fast!

I didn't know about this soylatte project… I'm trying installing that now which is no easy task: soylate needs macports and openmotif… and they need Xcode… so when I'm done I hope it works and I'll let you know!

Thanks again!
