Can not fix Firefox Slow internet access. Run speed test and Download speed=0.49Mbps and Upload=0.04 Mbps. Using Safari Download=16.05Mbps and Upload=1.05Mbps. I have been using Firefox for years without issues. We have RoadRunner as our ISP and the Safari speeds are typical for our RR. I have upgraded to the latest FF with no change. Checked all setting but no change. Any help is appreciated! Thanks John

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
