If my browser crashes or my computer reboots when the browser is re-initialized there is a "Restore Previous Session" command that brings back all my tabs/work.

I have been unable to find a way to close FireFox "normally" and preserve these connections. I am assuming that there must be some way that FireFox has these stored so,

Is it possible to close out of FireFox normally and still be able to reopen with my tabs up and available?

FireFox 24.0 running on System 7 Home Prem

You can use the startup setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

You can use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Browsing History

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
