Thunderbird not responding even after deleted GD file & in safe mode
Keep getting Thunderbird Not Responding message when try to delete, send, move messages. I deleted the GD file and I opened TB in safe mode but program is still slow and "Not Responding"

What is your anti-virus software?
I have no idea what 'the GD file' is.
GD file is the Global Database file - an indexing file. Deleting that file as well as starting Thunderbird in safe mode are suggested fixes for problem. Neither solved problem.
Anti-virus is McAfee. No problems with Thunderbird for more than a year with McAfee. Only change in recent weeks is new modem/router.
Your problem is McAfee.

Thanks for the info on McAfee. Thunderbird is working better but I worry about no virus scanning of incoming mail and attachments.
