When I open a page on Firefox that contains a lot of images such as Facebook or Google images, for about a second it will display the default jpg icon/missing image icon before loading the image. I'm fairly certain that it is not my connection because when I try this with IE or Chrome it does not do this and loads the images instantly. Anything I can do to fix this problem as it is very annoying.

You can try to toggle this preference to false on the about:config page:

  • browser.display.show_image_placeholders = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
