I want to set up my firefox so cookies are never accepted ; so all history now existant is deleted; and so history is deleted when I close firefox. However, I cannot access 'clear recent history' in the privacy settings menu, or any topic area to make these updates

Hey dcflash thanks for asking!! Here's how you delete your history, never allow cookies, and delete history when you close Firefox. 1. To delete all your current history, go to menu>history>clear recent history. Select how much history you want to delete (in your case all). Then press the clear now button. Note: The clear history button isnt in privacy, so thats why you were having trouble finding it.

2. To block cookies from all sites and never remember history, click the menu button and chose preferences (options on FF 35). Select the Privacy panel. Set the Firefox will to Use custom settings for history. From there uncheck the Remember my browsing and download history and uncheck Accept cookies from sites. Check also clear history when Firefox closes. Then you're done.

Have a great day!!

Jon
