Trying to get set up to directly download geocache site information to handheld Garmin GPS unit. Downloaded Garmin Communicator and USBDrivers, but can't get Firefox recognize the Communicator software. A message pops up that says the Communicator plug-in is blocked but it's set on always activate.

Have you contacted the Garmin Communicator support site? Does Windows have any problem? Did the installer run properly?


Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>

key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Is the message one of Firefox's standard plugin notifications? If so, does it do any good to click the plugin notification icon in the address bar (looks like a small Lego block) and use the Allow button?

Sometimes a message about a blocked plugin reflects the site's best guess about what is happening when the real issue is a blocked or incompatible script, for example. Do you have any content filtering/blocking extensions that might be affecting that page?
